GODPARENT GIFTS: Found!
[all excited here!]
After a lot of running around town and browsing so many things that could possibly be something what our godparents would want and can find useful aside from the typical wine & glasses or display plates, I found the one that even got my mother's thumbs up! It's from L***** that's a salt&pepper shaker. The gift fits well with the other souvenier giveaways as a chopsticks...so cute and is a "pair". It's the first in Lladro that came out such a thing to cater to the Chinese community. Cute and useful in the end. Too bad the name and code of Lladro isn't stamped at the bottom since that's where the salt and pepper opening will be. :)
Upon getting her confirmation that what I found was a good find (and also reasonable to the budget), I asked E and convinced him on this...I had the hard task to call around the stores to see if I can order not only 4 pairs but 7 pairs since my mom would like to have one for herself, Jay's family and I want to keep one. :P
Now the tough part comes along - there are only 5 stores in the whole of HK and I was told that each store had only one pair for display/sale in general. I called up all 5 stores up as early as I can Saturday morning, asking the same question but only one set was available and it's at Central. Off I went as early as I got the confirmation to get it immediately. I can't believe on how fast things sell in HK since I remember asking another store last week for it and now, it was totally sold and unavailable till the next order. Good thing that I can still order these things so I did...ordered 6 more pairs to complete and get all of these done.

**Side story - I remember seeing the all black finish or black gres finished intially (around a few months ago) but since I want to avoid black as gifts to our godparents, I gave up that idea...till just last last weekend, when I went into the store again and saw that they now finally came out with the "shiny/polished" or "blue" finish, which is just perfect and showed the details and costumes more clearly. The more I got overjoyed with the thought that this might be it! The rest was history.
