Wedding Theme: Decided!
Theme: Modern Moroccan
At first, I wanted to have an oriental theme since I am quite proud of my culture and do see a great fit in E's & my outlook; but there came a few conflicts that was brought to my attention:
- very frequently used (over-used) theme
- didn't match the dress design that I will have done...I don't have a traditional Chinese-cut dress
- and lastly, same old decor used over and over again by the event stylist, JH, that I've enlisted since he's a popular choice among the Chinese community that we have.
With the new theme change, there were a few changes in how I see the wedding now...
1) Morrocan like cake design and supplier replacement
2) 180 degrees motiff, flowers and decor change
3) more details to handle since this is an area not too many people have used for weddings back home
JH told me that he can do what I wanted and can fabricate certain elements to be used on my big day. He would only need to have some patterns to tell his contact to follow. Below are some of the things I found. It was quite overwhelming and totally got me all excited with so many options/choices/variety. It's going to be interesting on what he would come up with.
I discovered that there are tons of types of Morroccan lamps have tons of types:
1) Antique Brass
2) Henna
3) Iron
3) Silver
4) Glass
I think I love the more "laser cut" and glass designs than the Henna.
Henna

Antique Brass - "laser cut" designs

Glass - and some "laser cut-out combinations"

He also asked me and my mom to check out the prices for some snacks that he calls "are very souk market-like". I'll start it this weekend...slowly. :)
