Dummy Wedding Rings & Possible Wedding Bands:
I found a potential wedding band/ring that I liked this weekend. E sort of want our wedding rings to match down to the brim so to make sure I did my duty of researching well, I did just that for two or more weekends now. I went to usual jewelry stores and even when E was here - we checked out random stores that would carry these sorts of things.
I really looked hard and couldn't find the style that I would like or even close unless it's the usual suspects of fully diamond rings, which is great but not practical for everyday wear. I know that I would like "some diamonds" on my wedding band but didn't know what best would it look like that would invoke uniqueness and still be hip.
I searched high and low, tried so many, decided and wrote down a few stock codes for future references then just last Saturday on a whim to check my favorite "duets" ring store - I found it. It was a hard one since there were tons of styles and due to the magnitude of choices, it was overwhelming! I found a very good potential wedding band though even if it won't be the final decision, it's a good alternative for everyday wear that I can still consider as a wedding band. It has the important criteria of:
1) having diamonds but decently sized so it's hardly noticeable
2) is white gold like my engagement ring but can be customized to plat if later we would want it to be our rings
3) thin enough for E's standards witho ut looking too feminine
4) male counterpart ring can work with out it being too girlie and with out diamonds; and
5) works okay with my engagement ring than having one customized to fit snugly with it.
I just went ahead and got one for myself even if I believe resizing is required though my fingers may grow if I keep wearing the ring 24/7. Supposedly, my size is quite uncommon in HK (or so they say) that they hardly come out with this size of a ring in their stores. I can have the option of having it resized within a month so I can give it a try this CNY and decide on that. Also, I'm deciding also to have our names engraved on this ring of mine...for posterity reasons and can ask them on how much would it be, if we do decide on having our rings made and engraved as part of research.
Very happy that I have found a good ring...a good potential for now. I was quite frustrated that I couldn't find what I wanted for so long!
