COORDINATOR QUESTIONS:

A few questions were raised by mom with regards to the duties and responsibilities of a coordinator:

1) Accountability + Reliability/Dependability: Will they make sure that the photographer/florist/make-up artist (cumulatively "they") come at the said time? What happens if they don't come at the said/assigned time, will the coordinator call them or ensure that they nag them enough to ensure that this won't happen? Will they be the one who would maybe call the suppliers the day before to reconfirm the times that the suppliers would be arriving and are expected to come?

2) Value Added Service: How come a coordinator gets to charge so much money for a day job when most of the work is already done by you? Why pay such a hefty price to ensure what you did works? Normally, unless something really really bad happens, will surely be okay either way. Right? What makes one coordinator charge you 25k versus 40k? What's the added premium aside from maybe doing celebrity weddings? If they won't be going to any of the supplier meetings, what value-added services can they provide? It seems like someone like my relatives/friends can do that for me in the end.

**...the main thing is that I don't want to impose this sort of task to my relatives/friends even if some of my friends have offered this help to me...so as not to worry about finding the "right" and "affordable" coordinator.

3) Work Time/Office Hour: What time will they be on service on the day itself? Will they be coming to my hotel room? Work for them will start at....? Will there be any at the groom's place to ensure all is fine and good with the photographers that is suppose to take photos on his side?

4) Historical Background: How long have you been in this business? Kindly run me through your day.

It's a tough thing to judge and I'm sure I would be asking these questions to the coordinator...after the holiday, Nov 01. :)
