RESEARCH FINDINGS: Gowns Shopping!
Was surfing all night and work up early to still surf. I was having trouble finding my photographer. My top 3 were all taken this early in the year...it was frustrating!
Told SW about this and she brought me out for some wedding dress shopping ideas! I had some idea on what I wanted but I read in some site (CW) while I was surfing for some ideas on my dress, that I should also be open to try other types of dresses and not be pinned down to only one style.
I wanted to check out the new wedding store CW and SW was able to get through and book me for an appointment. I was to check out other bridal stores in TST but SW told me that we do not need to cross over to the other island. We have everything I needed all in Central! Everything wedding related required appointments but were just tried out luck and I can say that we had a really productive wedding dress shopping! We checked out the following stores after our dinner at Central's AMC:
SW also brought me to the NB in WC to buy some wedding magazine resources. It was really cool and a very productive day. I sort of found a few to add to a list that I hope my mom would be able to come and have a look and give me some verdict soon!
**A bit of a hitch, when I was trying on the dresses at CW, the sales lady brought out the veil. It was a very pretty veil but when it was placed on to my head...and I saw myself...I seem to panic and had to take it out in fear of what I saw. You know...women think of their wedding day and have certain expectations. In my case, I just can't believe I am walking down the aisle...it only seems yesterday that I graduated from high school now...I'm planning my wedding! I was going to move on to the next chapter with one very special guy! I couldn't ask for anything more...to be loved by ** and grow old with him. :)
Tips for shopping for your wedding gown: (as per CW)
Whether you have picked the date and venue for your big day or have just recently gotten engaged, the process of looking for the perfect gown is always the most exciting yet the most difficult for the bride-to-be. Here are some tips that might help make it a bit easier and more enjoyable for you:
- We recommend for you to start by researching through magazines, websites or other resources for styles that might be of interest to you.
- Cut out pictures you like and bring them along when you visit the bridal salon to show to the consultant.
- Discuss your wedding (theme, venue, time of year, etc) with the consultant so that she can recommend different styles that might be suitable for you to try.
- Keep an open mind and try on different styles and silhouettes, even those you’ve never thought of wearing for your big day… you never know.
- Bring one companion along (or maximum two, but never the entire family or bridal party!) when visiting the bridal stores, preferably someone who knows you well and whose opinion means the most to you.
- After visiting a few stores, try to recap and shortlist a few pieces that really stick with you and revisit those stores. Avoid visiting every single store you know of because too many might just confuse you.
- Finally, don’t get overstressed over small details and try to enjoy the process. You will definitely look beautiful on your special day! Just keep smiling…
**Other useful wedding tips:
- Book your ideal venue as early as possible once you’ve picked the auspicious date to avoid disappointment. Consider the time of the year when thinking about an outdoor wedding.
Talk to your florist to design the right bouquet to match your gown. Bring a picture of your gown if appropriate.
- Consider ordering a custom cake to add that special touch to your event.
- Choose the song that’s special to both of you to make it more memorable.
- If you want to take wedding photographs before the big event, remember to factor that in your timeline and be sure to let your bridal salon know so that they can help you to plan your order and fitting schedule ahead of time.
